The GPS reference mark consists of a
stainless steel plate with a forced centered
bolt. The stainless steel plate is the top
surface of a stainless steel pedestal
mounted on top of a concrete water
reservoir. The pedestal is 1.2 metres high,
15.2 cm in diameter.
The antenna is fastened to the pedestal
using a tamper resistant mechanism which
permits orientation of the antenna.
The antenna and choke ring assembly are
protected by a dome.
The water reservoir is constructed on top of
a compacted layer of gravel, situated on top
of bedrock and compacted till.
The stainless steel GPS pedestal is attached
to the concrete using stainless steel
threaded rod and epoxy based grout.
The pedestal is mounted over one of four
support columns within the reservoir.
